The Challenges

Spanning 10 miles, the BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension project is the first phase of construction that includes work on the stations’ roof, along with the roof and side screens of the pedestrian overcrossing and installation of skylights in the roof of the station, allowing natural light into both the concourse and the below-ground passenger boarding area.

BEST Contracting Services was selected to furnish and install all Metal Roofing, Metal Wall Panels, Glazing and Skylights at both the Berryessa Station and Milpitas Campus locations. The complexity of our scope of work included installing more than 70,000 square feet of Fabral Metal Roof Panels and 78,000 square feet of DAMS ACM Panels at both locations. The most challenging and unique part of our work was the installation of a 60 foot in diameter Skylight, a first in California.
