The Challenges

Opened by UC San Diego as a connection to other medical centers and research facilities, including Thornton Pavilion, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Altman Clinical Translational Research Institute as “part of a national consortium of 60 medical research institutions created to energize bench-to-bedside efforts”, Jacobs Medical Center is a 10-story, state-of-the-art 245-bed specialty hospital built at a cost of more than $945 Million and encompasses approximately 510,000 square feet.

BEST was selected to furnish and install a variety of exterior building envelope systems, including Grace Fluid-Applied Waterproofing System, Siplast SBS Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing, Stepstone Pavers and installation of award-winning Doralco Metal Panels at the Central Utility Plant.
