National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Southwest Fisheries Science Center in La Jolla performs oceanographic research. The facility contains a seawater and fresh water Ocean Technology Development Tank used to study and survey fishery resources and ecosystems. The 240,000 square foot project, which includes underground facility parking for more than 200 vehicles, was funded with part of the $830 million NOAA received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act economic stimulus package.
BEST was selected to furnish and install metal panels and sun shades for this new laboratory. Other components include terra cotta baguette louvers, baguette hardware and vertical armatures.
