The Challenges

This $130 million, 128,000 square foot recreation and aquatics center designed by Gensler offers students a spacious and bright environment with high ceilings providing students with an abundance of natural light. The facility includes an indoor track, aerobic studios, a three-court gym, rock climbing wall and quiet lounge areas. A 21 lane competition lap pool and a large recreation pool with an additional six lanes is home to SJSU swim, diving and water polo teams.

BEST was selected to furnish and install 7,500 square feet of Bituthene 3000 Waterproofing Membrane, along with 2,500 square feet of Monolithic Membrane 6125-FR Waterproofing, 3,629 linear feet AEP Span Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels at designated buildings. BEST also installed 77,000 square feet of Sarnafil PVC Membrane Roofing on Metal Deck as well as 8,000 square feet on Concrete Deck area.
